#NewNiger – United Against Insecurity

From the inception of his administration, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago launched operation flush, donated security vehicles, engaged stakeholders, and put in place other measures to curb youth restiveness, violence and crimes in Minna and environs.

Many of the youths in Niger state are being engaged daily with the statewide recruitment ongoing, agricultural mechanization for food security, constructions across the 25LGAs, skills acqusition and empowernment and many more of these are yielding positive results because of the relative peace we have enjoyed so far under this administration.

But recently, there are emerging street fights, burglary, theft, and influx of miscreants from other states seeing Minna as a peaceful place to perpetrate evil. One of the suspects involved in the stabbing and killing of the late GTB driver few days ago at the Fadikpe community, Minna, according to the suspect, they are petty traders and indigenes of Katsina State who came to Minna for business, selling rubber shoes, chocolates inside the market.

Spike in crime rate, breaking of law and order, and other activities that can affect development is not acceptable with the ongoing huge investment of Governor Bago in Urban Renewal, Health, Tourism, Education, Job Creation, and a Sustainable Economy for Nigerlites.

There is no curfew in Minna, but at the interim, Mr Governor has reiterated a night movement restriction of commercial motorcycles and tricycle, which are majorly used by the criminals. Also, there are no issues with people on dreadlocks as an identity of their profession but rather the hooligalism and cultism perpetrated by some youths on dreadlocks as a sign of radicalism, intimidation or harrasment will not be tolerated.

It’s a #NewNiger. Investors worldwide are seeing Niger State as the next destination of investment in Nigeria because of the relative peace and the pristine identity of the state that has been restored under the administration of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago. Therefore, Nigerlites are united to fight insecurity and anything that might draw the state backward.
